Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of legionsandiego.com (the "website"), operated by Legion American Jiu-Jitsu, LLC, a California limited liability company at 7550 Miramar Rd, Suite 330, San Diego, CA 92126 ("Legion AJJ", "we", "us"). By using the website, booking an orientation, or signing up for our texts or emails, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

1. These terms and your membership agreement

These terms cover the website only. Training at the academy, membership plans, billing, renewals, holds, cancellation, and refunds are governed by the Membership Agreement you sign when you join, together with the Release and Waiver of Liability and the Publicity Release. Where those signed documents and these terms differ, the signed documents control. Nothing on the website changes the terms of a signed agreement.

2. Free orientation bookings

The website lets you book a free orientation. Bookings are for adults 18 and over, or for a child booked by a parent or legal guardian who will attend with them. One free orientation per person. We may reschedule or cancel a booking, for example if a class is full or an instructor is unavailable, and we will contact you using the details you gave us. Booking an orientation does not create a membership and does not commit you to buy anything. Attending requires signing our Release and Waiver of Liability at the academy.

3. Promotions and offers

Offers advertised on the website, in our ads, or in our messages are subject to the conditions stated with the offer, are limited to one per person unless stated otherwise, are available to new students only unless stated otherwise, cannot be combined with other offers, and can be changed or withdrawn at any time. Pricing shown on the website is for new memberships and may change; the rate in your signed Membership Agreement is the one that applies to you.

4. Text messages and email

When you give us your mobile number and consent, Legion AJJ sends recurring text messages about class schedules and changes, beginner course start dates, appointment confirmations and reminders, event announcements, and occasional offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time; we will send one confirmation and then stop. Reply HELP for help or call 858-888-1815. Consent to texts is not a condition of buying a membership or using any Legion AJJ service. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any email. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle your contact information.

5. Our content

Everything on the website and in the material we send you, including videos, articles, newsletters, ebooks, photographs, graphics, the Legion AJJ name and logo, and the way the site is put together, belongs to Legion AJJ or is used with permission. You may view it and share links to it for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, download, republish, sell, or build on it without our written permission. This includes ebooks and newsletters we email to you. Unauthorized use may lead to a claim for damages.

6. Using the website

You agree to use the website lawfully and not to: submit false booking or contact information; use someone else's details without permission; scrape, crawl, or copy the site in bulk; interfere with the site, its forms, or its security; or use the site to send spam or to harass anyone. We may block access to anyone who breaks these rules.

7. Training information is not professional advice

Technique videos, articles, and training tips on the website and in our emails are general information for people who train jiu-jitsu. They are not medical, health, or safety advice, and they are not a substitute for in-person instruction. Jiu-jitsu is a contact sport with a risk of injury. Decide for yourself, with your doctor where appropriate, whether a movement is right for you, and learn techniques under a qualified instructor. We are not responsible for injuries or losses that result from attempting anything you saw on the website or in our content. Participation at the academy is covered by the Release and Waiver of Liability you sign before training.

8. Links to other sites

The website links to other sites and services, such as our booking system, social media, and payment processors. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

9. No warranty

The website is provided as is. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses, or that schedules, prices, and other details are always current. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, about the website and its content.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legion AJJ and its owners, instructors, staff, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, business, or profits, arising from your use of the website or its content, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the website is limited to one hundred dollars ($100). This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under California law, and it does not apply to claims governed by a signed Membership Agreement or Release and Waiver of Liability, which have their own terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute about the website or these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you agree to the jurisdiction of those courts. If you have a problem, contact us first at info@legionajj.com and we will try to sort it out directly.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated terms. Changes to these terms do not change a signed Membership Agreement.

13. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term on one occasion, we can still enforce it later. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and any signed agreement between you and Legion AJJ are the whole agreement between us about the website.
