Domenique Bell's Biography

Born on November 19, 1990, in Pompano Beach, Florida, Dominique Bell didn’t grow up as a typical athlete. Instead, he spent his early years immersed in art and video games. Creativity was his first passion, and it stayed with him even as his path took a sharp turn toward martial arts.

In 2008, Bell enlisted in the United States Army, seeking new challenges and opportunities. While stationed in Germany, he discovered jiu-jitsu at a base recreation center. Training on basic mats with limited resources, he found himself drawn to the technical and strategic nature of grappling. Dom’s artistic eye helped him see the sport in a unique way, and he quickly became obsessed with improving his skills.

A Decorated Competitor

After leaving the military, Bell dedicated himself to training full-time, climbing the ranks of jiu-jitsu with remarkable speed. His hard work and competitive spirit earned him victories at prestigious events around the world. Some of his most notable achievements include:

Dominique Bell’s passion for jiu-jitsu doesn’t stop at competition. He is deeply committed to teaching and sharing his knowledge with others. Known for breaking down complex techniques into simple, effective steps, Bell has developed a loyal following among students at all levels, amassing more than half a million followers on social media. His instructional materials, such as “Tarantula Guard,” “Dubious De La Riva,” and “Cheat Code No Gi Passing,” reflect his approach to the art.

Dom Bell definitely has a unique perspective on jiu-jitsu. He runs seminars, classes, and has some online stuff where he teaches his strategic approach and some unorthodox techniques. He emphasizes both creativity and discipline in his teaching. He’s made a name for himself in the jiu-jitsu community by advocating for a more thoughtful and innovative approach to training.

Intermediate and advanced students can learn gi jiu-jitsu. from Dom every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm.
